Jam chartSerenity, now. This sublime version stays true to the tune's namesake as Trey's pure, melodious weaving guides the band's rhythmic center through intimate, dynamic, subtle transformations. Page's synth washes underpin an almost mystical vibe throughout, when around the 17 minute mark Trey plucks out a cosmic riff from the heavens. This motif is then repeated, looped, stacked, and soloed over to create a melodically gorgeous tapestry of catharsis, before quietly fading out > "Lonely Trip".

Jam chartTrey's off kilter pedal play casts the now common intro into a uniquely new and sinister light that gives way to a lush, layered, and well balanced conversation steeped in swirling synths and accented by melodic exploration that grows more contemplative even as it picks up steam and heads toward a slick segue collision with an even more exemplary "Twist".

Jam chartThe band take their time testing the improvisational waters, winding carefully and contemplatively at first, then quickly accelerate in a fluid race of ideas that weaves artfully into a sonic fabric accentuated in particular by the melodic telepathy between guitar and piano that drives a sustained peak before fading and > to "ER".

Jam chartCall and response between Page and Trey sets the tone early, as the jam gradually but surely grows more psychedelic. A repeated riff from Trey then fires up the intensity, with Page and Mike's agile effects-based play helping to create a harmonically minimalist, but texturally dense sonic landscape.

Jam chartMaking its first appearance at Deer Creek after more than two decades, "Scents" here is led by Fish’s frenetic play, which is anything but subtle. The jam takes a turn just before the 13 minute mark into a slightly more contemplative space that provides some breathing room for the band to engage each other in conversational interplay that gradually builds to a rhythm laden and percussive peak featuring a reprise of "Down With Disease" before concluding.

Jam chartA sneaky -> into the intro out of a really good "Simple". Trey guns the engines and starts cranking out some filth as Fishman goes absolutely ham behind him, and the band hits a pretty good peak, then Trey switches to chords and they enter "Manteca"-adjacent territory. The improv grows darker-tinged and more late-night energy, but Fish never relents in his percussive assault, giving the jam's second half a real interesting flavor. Damn good stuff, sir.

Jam chartFire jam, with Trey out front, confident and in control. A tease-seeker's paradise, Trey hints at "Suzy," "Axilla," and who knows how many other sounds. Play reminiscent of "Sparks" gives way to a full spaciousness typical of the band's best playing, with the four working as one, in lieu of yielding room - wonderful. Mike's seismic line signals a shift to darker, stormier terrain which calms before brightening into more teasing, fun stop/start jamming, super percussion, and funky Page. > "No Quarter." The band shifts to a new gear and builds to a squealing fireball peak, replete with a "NMINML" tease. Jam chartOnly the second "S&SS" with intro (SBIX) in 3.0, this version shows few signs of rust and has excellent vocals throughout. The jam starts off largely in-the-box, but Trey and Mike slowly tug at the seams until Fishman pushes the rest of the band towards a throbbing two-note pattern and a brief peak before more clean vocals bring it back home.
